Vittorio Zecchin
Vase consisting of polychrome concentric rings of murrine glass forming geometric patterns
Un’esplosione di gemme policrome, che richiama i fasti antichi della Venezia bizantina, e al tempo stesso rimanda a Klimt.

Vase consisting of polychrome concentric rings of murrine glass forming geometric patterns
Encouraged by the Baroviers, Vittorio Zecchin created murrine glasswork with concentric encrustations and delicate play of colour. Inspired by visions of the Venice Lagoon, these works develop themes the artist had pursued previously in painting. Expressing his happiness in being able to transform glass into precious gems “more lovely than those of the jeweller, more piercing than the eyes of Oriental beauties”, the artist was wont to refer to these creations as "Le belle murrine".
