Antonio Donghi

Le villeggianti

With its balancing of composition and colours of the figures in the foreground and the landscape in the background, Le villeggianti is considered one of Antonio Donghi’s most successful compositions. The work was first exhibited at the 1935 Rome Quadrennial of National Art together with another twenty-one canvases, and was displayed again at exhibitions in Paris and Berlin.
