Archimede Seguso

Vase in “merletto puntinato” glass

Merletto puntinato glass is one of the countless variations of the merletto glass conceived in the lively imagination of Archimede Seguso. The Murano master created glass that was virtually ethereal and permeated by a complex reticulate of threads of lattimo or amethyst glass that was only apparently left to chance. These works were the fruit of extraordinary research and experimentation involving the expressive possibilities of the filigree technique of such complexity that even the glassmakers themselves found hard to explain.
